Everything I've ever heard or read when it comes to this question is no, it's not alright. I wouldn't do it for various reasons, but just one reason being is that it's possible that a medicine that works OK for one person can cause an allergic reaction in somebody else.

But then again, if the medicine you're talking about is something like an over-the-counter nail paint for a fungal toenail infection, or an ibuprofen for a headache then it's OK. Anything that required a prescription is not advisable.
